Services

Advising, designing, deciding and governing — with impact at the centre.

Inclusive & MSME finance

Advising on and supporting the design and implementation of access-to-finance projects, strategies and financial products for underserved households and micro, small and medium businesses, including feasibility and market studies and product design.

Agri-food sector finance

Designing refinancing mechanisms, tripartite agreements with partners along the value chain (specifically in the cocoa and coffee sectors), financing instruments for smallholder farmers, agri-businesses/SMEs and AgTechs, and the financial inclusion of women and youth in rural and agriculture-based communities.

Climate & clean-energy finance

Designing green credit lines with a focus on climate mitigation and/or adaptation and related technical-assistance projects for financial institutions, as well as lending for renewable energy and energy efficiency, both to projects directly and through financial-institution portfolios.

Fund governance, board & investment committee

Board-level governance and leadership as a non-executive director or board chair, shaping strategy, taking strategic decisions, and overseeing a fund's performance and risks. As an investment-committee member or chair, taking investment and technical-assistance decisions and advising funds on their governance and on the processes for sound investment decision-making.

Training & capacity building

Designing and delivering training for development finance institutions and other types of institutions (in person, online and as e-learning) from single sessions to multi-module, multi-edition courses on topics such as agricultural finance, financial inclusion, SME and green finance and women's access to finance.

Evaluation & impact measurement

Independent project and programme evaluations based on OECD/DAC and mixed-methods, including mid-term reviews and the design of follow-on phases. Advisory on outcomes-focused impact measurement and management, including at fund level.

Blended finance & capital mobilisation

Advising on and supporting the design of blended-finance vehicles and instruments, such as first-loss and mezzanine tranches, concessional finance and credit guarantees, with the governance frameworks behind them and developing the concepts and approaches that underpin them. Throughout, the focus is impact, additionality and minimum concessionality, assuring scarce public resources are used most efficiently and mobilising private capital to reach underserved markets on better terms, not simply to grow volume.
